After seven weeks of intense competition, Ranked Games Season I has come to a thrilling end. The season started off slowly with the removal of placement games, but a tweak to the ranked points attribution made the game more dynamic, igniting the players’ motivation to fight for a higher rank.
Emerging as the triumphant champion of Season I is Roger Szarek from Poland, who dominated the competition by a significant margin. Following in second place is Yury Khiuppenen from Russia who finished just 19 points ahead of the bronze medalist Ove Hjelvik from Norway, who improved his final ranking compared to his 5th place finish in the Beta season.
On the last day, Gavin Wolpert stole the spotlight with an extraordinary run earning more than 1000 ranking points and moving from 7th to 4th place!
Steve Weinstein, the victor of the Beta season, finished 5th, just a few hundred points behind the podium.
